Wellington Florida Crime Action Bulletin! Caution- You Might Laugh!

Wellington Florida is known for safety and rather boring for the Sheriff's department whom we contract to patrol our streets. 

The first homicide in the last 6 years just took place over the Thanksgiving weekend. When a crime does happen it is a HUGE deal.

The big excitement for patrol officers I think is to pass out speeding tickets and round up the kids who are skipping school. Wellington Florida does not have their own police department. 

Nestor and I were on our 3 mile walk when suddenly we see this Sheriff's car zooming passed us with sirens flaring and lights glaring. Then we see another on and then another one! We saw a total of 6 siren wheeling Sheriff cars speed by in a matter of a minute.

Well, something's up with that we said to each other, they must have pulled over some young kid and found an ounce on him. That would be this type of response. There is not much excitement as a cop in our neck of the woods! We then hear the Sheriff chopper overhead!

We continue on our walk and there is nothing of major importance to take note of. Well, just the other day I am looking at our Google Alerts and see what all the fuss what about.

A young man had previously been stopped at the Wellington Green Mall for his pants hanging down too low and his underpants were showing. There is a rule at the mall that you can not walk around with your pants falling down. So they cited him for this infraction and he was ordered not to come back to the mall again, ever.

Well, he did come back to the mall with his pants hanging down again which means he is now trespassingon private property. This time the mall security called the Sheriff to come and arrest him. Well, his parents both over 50 and two of his cousins raised a protest about him being arrested and so the whole family was arrested and spent the night in jail. They are going to see a lawyer as they said they were treated unfairly. Well, the deputies arrested them for resisting an officer with violence, assault with intent to commit a felony and assault on a police officer and trespassing.

All in all, for this one incident there were 20 deputies, 2 K-9 Dogs and one Sheriff Chopper! WoW! You would think someone went postal!

Such excitement here in Wellington Florida!
